Steel Ball Through Brass Bolt

A steel ball seemingly passes through a brass bolt which has been threaded into a brass hexagonal block.

The bolt is 7.5 cm (3") by 0.9 cm 3/4"). The hexagonal brass block is 1 cm (1") across 3 cm (1?") long . The bolt is threaded into the aperture and it is clearly seen this prevents the ball passing through the hole.

A nut is threaded on to the bolt and the assembly is held at eye level to the spectators. The steel ball is rested upon the bolt and slowly the ball sinks through the bolt. The nut is taken off and the bolt unthreaded ready for examination by the onlookers
